hi i have a punto mk1 1.2 16v the temperature seems to stay close to half way whether out on open road or stuck in traffic. i thought that they should be near quarter mark on the open road and rise when in traffic :confused: i replaced the thermostate as was stuck open wasnt heating up and Where do I find the timing marks for a 1998 Fiat Punto 1.2 16V Sporting? there is no timing marks. Where is the timing marks on punto 1.2 have you picture? take the rocker cover off, long big screw driver that'll fit down the spark plug hole, crank it over by hand until you think you are at TDC, then crank over the camshaft until cylinder 1's valves are both closed, try sticking the timing belt on then, if it doesn't start, crank the engine over by hand to 180 degrees (so no1 goes to tdc again!) and repeat Help please guys! Changing the cam belt on my hgt today and came across a problem. The exhaust cam wheel has a timing mark but the inlet cam wheel has no visible timing mark to line them up together to get the timing right. Any advice would help thanks in advance. fiat punto ,1.2 its a valve free engine so it will not bash the valves ,the bottom pulley mark points at teh top ,you will seea corresponding mark and the cam is top left hand side ,you will see another coresponding mark their for the cam on the ally rocker cover.
